Hot Club Pacific is the premier Gypsy Jazz ensemble in the Monterey Bay Area of California. They are part of the legacy of Django Reinhardt, one of the worlds greatest guitar players. Here's a little information about the band:

In 2005 Hot Club Pacific began performing Gypsy Jazz in Santa Cruz, California and from the start, the band generated much public excitement. Over time the personnel has changed, but the musical focus remains. The band plays Gypsy Jazz with a traditional Gypsy "la Pompe" rhythm, but the melodies (and improvisations) have a modern jazz sound, incorporating many jazz styles that have come along since the time of Django. The result is a fusion of styles that has the infectious toe tapping, finger snapping rhythm of the past, and at the same time, the melodic sound of today. Come hear it live!

The band has played at many important Jazz festivals including, Djangofest Northwest, Downtown Berkeley Jazz Festival, Djangofest San Francisco, San Jose Tapestry Arts Festival, Djangofest LA and others. Check our calendar for upcoming shows.

We have frequent guest artists including Bay Area virtuoso bluegrass fiddler Annie Staninec . Greg Ruby of Pearl Django fame was a guest artist in 2005, Jazz guitar legend Bruce Forman played Djangofest San Francisco 2006 with Hot Club Pacific. Gypsy Jazz bassist Simon Planting played Djangofest Northwest 2006 and Djangofest Northwest 2007 with the band. Favored Nations recording artist, Mimi Fox Joined Hot Club Pacific at Djangofest Mill Valley 2007. Larry Coryell, one of the most famous Jazz guitarists in history played Djangofest Northwest 2007 alongside Hot Club Pacific (Howard Alden and Andreas Oberg were surprise guest artists at one of those shows).
